Flowserve Introduces Multiple New Gestra Products for Steam Traps and Boiler Controls at ACHEMA 2012

Designed to increase the efficiency of steam and condensate applications, these new Gestra products serve a wide range of industries and applications including the chemical and petrochemical industries, the pharmaceutical industry, and steam and hot water plants.

DALLAS, June 11, 2012 – Flowserve Corporation (NYSE: FLS), a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, announces the new Gestra® TS36, the new SRK26A and the latest generation for drum controls in boiler plants with rapidly controllable firing equipment, SPECTORmodul. All three products, as well as Gestra product experts, will be available at the ACHEMA 2012 Flowserve booth (Hall 8, Stand A64) June 18-22 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Designed to increase the efficiency of steam and condensate applications, these new Gestra products serve a wide range of industries and applications including the chemical and petrochemical industries (TS36), the pharmaceutical industry (SRK26A), and steam and hot water plants (SPECTORmodul). “We are continually evaluating our products and how they fit with our customer’s ever changing needs,” said Scott Mayo, vice president and general manager, Flow Control Division, Power Sector. “By being more energy efficient, easy to use and easy to maintain, this latest release of Gestra products represents our ongoing commitment to design products that are in line with our customer’s priorities.”

Gestra TS36 – Trap Station for Universal Connection Steam Traps
The Gestra TS36 trap station contains all the features necessary for convenient maintenance and the servicing of steam traps, including color coded hand wheels to facilitate closing and opening of the isolating valves in the correct sequence. Piston valves with non-rising hand wheels protect the trap station against dirt. Blow-off and test valves make it possible to depressurize the steam trap application or to allow a visual indication of the steam trap operation. Additionally, stainless steel relief valves allow for secure replacement of steam traps and a stainless steel test port valve allows for functional test of steam traps.

Gestra SRK26A – Non-Return Valve for Sanity Steam Traps
The SRK26A non-return valve is designed to prevent back flow from condensate return lines, which can disrupt the critical Sterilization-in-Place (SIP) process.  Primarily used in pharmaceutical industry clean rooms, the SRK26A attaches directly to the steam trap without additional pipes or welding, offering a solution that minimizes the time and space required to complete the SIP process.

SPECTORmodul – Family of Interfacing Controls
The SPECTORmodul family of products is an industry leader in control applications on boilers in a broad range of operating pressures and on a variety of steam generators and condensate management systems.  Safety has always been a key feature in Flowserve boiler evaporator control systems and this continues with the latest generation. SPECTORmodul is ahead of industry safety requirements with a certification to Safety Integrated Level (SIL) 3. The latest generation of SPECTOR products also offers a simple and self-explanatory user interface designed to minimize end user errors. It facilitates a modular and scalable controller design with focus on typical control applications in and around industrial boilers.
