Design
The technology and design for Worcester cryogenic valves include:
- Positive ball cavity relief to prevent dangerous overpressure due to thermal expansion.
- Pressure safe stem assembled inside the body for blowout prevention and matched to the ball for positive flow direction indication.
- Zero leak packing incorporating bellville spring live loaded graphite packing assures zero leakage and high cycle life.
- Effective bonnet extension conforms to industry standards for wall thickness and lengths reducing heat transfer and frost free packing.
- High performance/low thermal stress design of valve parts assure tight shutoff,zero body leakage and low torque through large thermal excursions from ambient to -425F.
- Fire safety design with the Series 94 stem seal design utilizing double graphite seals for fire tight operation. This is especially effective in hydrogen and LNG systems.
- Worcester’s characterized metal-seated control valves for cryogenic modulating service offer many advantages over traditional globe valves for demanding cryogenic applications.
- Rotary Concept Eliminates expensive high-maintenance stuffing box design of rising stem globe valves.
- Eliminates the unbalanced, heavy actuators of extended bonnet globe valves.
- Reduces the size of the control valve package by one third.
