Kazakhstan President Visits Flowserve Central Asian Service and Repair Facility

President Nazarbayev Recognizes Kazakhstan’s First Western OEM Maintenance Center

DALLAS, November 1, 2011 – Flowserve Corporation (NYSE: FLS), a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, today announced a recent visit by Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Flowserve Quick Response Center (QRC) located in the city of Atyrau. Mr. Nazarbayev was accompanied by Messrs. Umirzak Shukeev, first vice-Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, and Gazizbek Turaliev, service center director, Flowserve.

During his visit on September 16, 2011, President Nazarbayev recognized Flowserve as the first Western original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to invest in his country’s drive to establish a world-class industrial support infrastructure. The presence of Flowserve, Mr. Nazarbayev noted, is an important step in meeting local ownership and content goals of the country’s industrial development program. While touring the facility, Mr. Nazarbayev saw the success of the newly established customs union between Kazakhstan and Russia when the Flowserve Atyrau QRC was repairing worn pumping systems from a Russian refinery.

From its location in western Kazakhstan on the Caspian Sea, the Flowserve Atyrau QRC is designed to help fulfill the service and repair needs of the oil and gas, mining and mineral processing, power generation, water resources, chemical and related infrastructure industries of Kazakhstan, Russia and the central Asian region. The Atyrau QRC is equipped to provide maintenance and repair services for pumps, seals and valves, regardless of the original manufacturer. In addition to the packaging of new pumping systems, the Atyrau QRC routinely performs hydraulic re-rates, mechanical and materials upgrades, asset management services, and in-the-field maintenance and repair. The Atyrau QRC began operations in February 2011.

Tom Ferguson, president, Flowserve Flow Solutions Group, commented on the visit. “We are honored by President Nazarbayev’s visit to the Atyrau QRC. Kazakhstan is a strategically important country in our geographic expansion initiatives in Central Asia, and we are pleased President Nazarbayev has taken an interest in our global commitment to serving the maintenance and repair needs of our customers with local, timely response."
